Interpretation
The words of which the initial letter is capitalized have meanings defined under the following conditions. The following definitions shall have the same meaning regardless of whether they appear in singular or in plural.

- Account means a unique account created for You to access Our Service or parts of Our Service.

- Application refers to Buzz Off, the software program provided by the Company.
- Company (referred to as either "the Company", "We", "Us" or "Our" in this Agreement) refers to Buzz Off.
- Country refers to: Queensland, Australia.
- Device means any device that can access the Service such as a smartphone or tablet.
- Personal Data is any information that relates to an identified or identifiable individual.
- Service refers to the Application.
- Service Provider means any natural or legal person who processes the data on behalf of the Company. It refers to third‑party companies or individuals employed by the Company to facilitate the Service, to provide the Service on behalf of the Company, to perform services related to the Service or to assist the Company in analyzing how the Service is used.
- Third‑Party Sign‑In Provider refers to any external authentication provider that allows a User to log in or create an account to use the Service, such as Apple or Google.
- Usage Data refers to data collected automatically, either generated by the use of the Service or from the Service infrastructure itself (for example, in‑app events or crash diagnostics).
- You means the individual accessing or using the Service, or the company or other legal entity on behalf of which such individual is accessing or using the Service, as applicable.
Collecting and Using Your Personal Data
Types of Data Collected
Personal Data
While using Our Service, We may ask You to provide Us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify You. Personally identifiable information may include, but is not limited to:
- Email address
- First name and last name
- Profile photo (optional)
- Authentication information from Third‑Party Sign‑In Providers (for example, when You sign in with Apple or Google)
Health and Habit Data (User‑Entered)
The core purpose of Buzz Off is to help You reduce or quit caffeine. To provide this functionality, You may choose to enter the following types of data:
- Daily check‑ins (mood, fatigue, headaches, irritability, cravings, low mood, and whether You had caffeine)
- Caffeine intake logs (for example, type of drink and amount of caffeine)
- Your goals and preferences (for example, Cold Turkey or Gradual mode, reasons for quitting, symptoms and goals selected during onboarding)
- Estimated daily caffeine amount (for example, in milligrams per day)
This information is entered by You and is used to power features such as streaks, progress charts, achievements, insights, and tools designed to support Your caffeine reduction journey. We do not sell this data.
Usage Data
Usage Data is collected automatically when using the Service.
Usage Data may include information such as Your Device type, operating system, unique device identifiers, crash information, in‑app events, and other diagnostic data that help Us understand how the Service is used and how it performs.
This data is used to maintain and improve the stability, performance, and user experience of the Service.
Information from Third‑Party Sign‑In Providers
The Company allows You to create an account and log in to use the Service through the following Third‑Party Sign‑In Providers:
- Apple
- Email and password (direct sign‑up and login)
If You decide to register through or otherwise grant Us access to a Third‑Party Sign‑In Provider, We may collect Personal Data that is already associated with Your provider account, such as Your name and email address, in accordance with that provider’s own privacy policy.
You may also have the option of sharing additional information from Your provider account. If You choose to provide such information and Personal Data, You are giving the Company permission to use, share, and store it in a manner consistent with this Privacy Policy.
Information Collected while Using the Application
While using Our Application, in order to provide certain features of Our Application, We may collect, with Your prior permission:
Pictures and other information from Your Device's photo library (for example, when You choose to upload a profile photo).
We use this information only to provide features of Our Service, such as displaying Your chosen profile image. The information may be uploaded to the Company's servers and/or a Service Provider's server or it may be stored on Your Device.
You can enable or disable access to this information at any time through Your Device settings.
Push Notifications and Preferences
With Your consent, We may collect and use a push notification token associated with Your Device to send:
- Daily reminders to check in and track Your progress
- Encouragement messages and achievement alerts
You can change Your notification preferences or disable notifications at any time in the App settings or Your Device settings.
Use of Your Personal Data
The Company may use Personal Data for the following purposes:
- To provide and maintain the Service, including to create and manage Your Account, process Your check‑ins, track Your progress, streaks, and achievements, and provide tools designed to support You in reducing or quitting caffeine.
- To manage Your subscription, including verifying whether You have an active Pro subscription and unlocking Pro‑only features.
- To contact You via in‑app messages or email, where appropriate (for example, important service updates or account‑related messages).
- To provide notifications, including daily reminders and encouragement notifications, if You have opted in.
- To improve the Service by monitoring usage, diagnosing crashes, and understanding how features are used so We can make improvements.
- To comply with legal obligations and to protect Our rights, where required.
The Company does not sell Your Personal Data.
Third‑Party Service Providers
We may share Your information with Service Providers to monitor and analyze the use of our Service, to process subscriptions, to store data, or to contact You. These Service Providers act on Our behalf and are required to keep Your information secure.
- Supabase – Provides authentication, database storage, and profile image storage for the App.
- RevenueCat – Manages subscriptions and entitlements to determine whether You have access to Pro features.
- Superwall – Displays paywalls and subscription offers inside the App.
- Sentry – Collects crash reports and diagnostic information to help Us improve stability and fix bugs.
- Expo / EAS – Helps deliver app updates and manage over‑the‑air updates for the App.
- Apple – Provides Sign in with Apple, App Store distribution, and in‑app purchase infrastructure.
- Google – Provides Google sign‑in and related authentication infrastructure.
- Resend – May be used to send transactional emails such as account deletion confirmations, when required.
Each of these Service Providers has its own privacy practices. We encourage You to review their privacy policies where appropriate.
Data Retention
The Company will retain Your Personal Data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.
- Account and profile data are retained while Your Account is active. If You request deletion of Your Account, We will delete or anonymize Your Personal Data, subject to any legal obligations to retain certain records.
- Daily check‑ins and caffeine logs are retained for as long as Your Account exists so that You can view historical progress, unless You delete Your Account.
- Crash and diagnostic data are retained by Our analytics and error‑tracking providers for limited periods according to their policies.
Your Rights and Choices
Depending on Your location, You may have certain rights regarding Your Personal Data. Regardless of where You live, We provide the following controls:
- Access and update – You can view and update certain profile information directly in the App.
- Delete Your Account – You can request deletion of Your Account from within the App. When You delete Your Account, We will delete or anonymize associated data, subject to legal obligations.
- Export – Certain parts of Your data (for example, historical check‑ins) can be exported from within the App if You are a Pro subscriber.
- Notifications – You can enable or disable push notifications in the App settings or in Your Device settings.
Children's Privacy
Our Service is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect Personal Data from children under 13. If You are a parent or guardian and You become aware that Your child has provided Us with Personal Data, please contact Us. If We become aware that We have collected Personal Data from a child under 13 without verification of parental consent, We will take steps to remove that information from Our servers.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update Our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify You of any material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this Privacy Policy. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.
